ON THE SHORES of Lough Swilly, Buncrana of County Donegal it started.
Caught in a violent storm life changed for a wretch and slave trader. JOHN NEWTON came face to face with himself and his need for God´s forgiveness and grace. Ireland´s link with this amazing story is Lough Swilly from 1748 and this changed the sailor of 23. This started John Newton´s spiritual journey 1748. And later c. 1772 he  wrote the song text Amazing Grace. ( More )
