A Challenge for the Western Church: To be Follower or Adapter
HAVE A LOOK on these 30 countries for a moment:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bhutan, China, Egypt, Eritrea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, S. Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
IN THESE NATIONS you find persecuted Christians - and growing churches. In the western church we don’t see any persecuted churches - and not real growth. WHY? Reason: To be a Christian and a Church is about to be Follower of Jesus and His Word OR an Adapter of the surrounding Society and its Opinion. A living OR a dead christian/church.
IDOP - International Day of Prayer for the persecuted church 2006 - asks us to pray for the persecuted church. See the Prayer requests for the 30 nations, from Afghanistan to Vietnam, where the church is persecuted. JOIN the ‘give it away movement’! says Johan Candelin.
