KINAS DESINFORMATION om vad The Epoch Times är... har inte gjort det lättare för omvärlden att se vad som är sanning och inte sanning. Omvärlden har under de senaste 6-7 åren försetts med ett hav av desinformation från Kina.
Den kinesiska propagandaapparaten har förvirrat omvärlden att se vad som är lögn och vad som är sanning.
Dessutom har propagandan förstärkts av västvärldens jakt efter ekonomiska fördelar med den växande kinesiska marknaden. Marknadens girighet har varit en stark partner för nedtystandet av mörka bestialiska sanningar - om allt från förföljelser till koncentrationsläger av Treblinka-karaktär.
- Faktum är att den kristne advokaten Gao Zhisheng i Beijing står upp för orättvisor, brott mot Human Rights och kriminella dåd oavsett om brottsoffren är buddhister, falungong-anhängare, fattiga bönder från landsbygden eller kristna från den underjordiska kyrkan. - Faktum är att tidningen The Epoch Times sedan flera år i praktiken är det enda oberoende mediet som rapporterat inifrån Kina.

C-SPAN Washington intervjuade Erping Zhang, talesman för Falun Gong, med anledning av protestaktionen som dr Wang genomförde i samband med presidenternas Hu och Bush presskonferens i Washington förra veckan.
C-Span re-broadcasted it again 1/2 hour later. All the topics were covered including organ harvisting, labor camps, and the persecution, and Dr. Wenyi's background. Many people called in. Reporter without Borders kallar The Epoch Times för "Independent Daily" maj 2005. Falun Gong-utövare startade tidningen för att täcka ett växande behov av opartisk rapportering om Kina, speciellt om mänskliga rättigheter. Idag har Epoch Times vuxit till en media med bred publik och intresseområden. Den är avskild från Falun Gong som har sin egen media. Epoch Times har fått flera utmärkelser som indirekt visar att den är en oberoende media. Dessa utmärkelser ges inte till propaganda media.

UTMÄRKELSER
· On World Human Rights Day, December 10, 2005, Zheng Yichun, an Epoch Times journalist and scientist from China, was awarded the Dr. Rainer Hildebrandt medal, a major Human Rights recognition. Zheng was unable to attend the award ceremony in Berlin, as he was sentenced to seven years in prison in China in September 2005. He is one among several other Epoch Times journalists jailed in China for reporting truthfully on various topics concerning the Chinese communist regime.

· In September 2005 the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) honoured The Epoch Times for its editorial content and noted that the paper was a “Strong defender of human rights and democratic values.”
